Recruit Emergency Medical Training is required by the Georgia EMS Curricula Standards to be 332 hours; the time scheduled to cover the material is approximately 3 months. The Emergency Medical Technician-Advanced program encompasses a full range of emergency medical services, such as patient assessment, airway management, trauma, and pediatrics. Training is provided in the classroom, in ambulances, and in area hospitals. To gain hands-on experience, Recruits clock clinical hours riding with local ambulance crews, observing and practicing skills in hospital operating rooms, emergency rooms and other mental and physical health institutions.
To successfully complete the EMT-Advanced Program, recruits must pass all written and practical examinations.
